Who Will Build Your Log Home?1. You can build it yourself. Kuhns Bros. offers log home construction workshops. They are educational and fun. They are three-day workshops and they are free to anyone who has paid the required deposit for a Kuhns Bros log home. 2. You can erect just the shell. If you choose this option you can put up the shell and hire contractors to do the roofing system, interior walls and finish work. Or you can do the reverse. Contractors could do the shell including doors and windows. In other words they can do the "dry-in" work and you can finish the inside. 3. Be your own general contractor. This means hiring the subcontractors, i.e., excavation and foundation, plumber, electrician, a contractor to erect the log walls, interior framing, finish work, etc. This route doesn't come without its frustrations. Most subs depend on GC's to keep them busy. If they are already on jobs finding a sub for your project can be difficult and ultimately cause delays. 4. Turnkey. Everything is done for you. You hire a general contractor to build the entire house. When completed it is ready for you to move in. 5. Dry-in (Weathertight) There are Log Home Building teams out there who will travel to your building site, stack your logs, install your roof system, exterior doors and windows, porch and deck framing and floors, interior wall framing, and more in accordance with the signed contract. Some will do finish work. This usually requires a separate contract. No matter what your choice we are here to assist you with any on-site technical assistance you may need. If you have questions that need quick answers we are easily reached either by office phone, cell phone, e-mail or FAX. We also have excellent technical support available at our corporate office. |
